Each year, the Indianapolis Children's Museum features special admission days when all guests are allowed to enter the facility for free. These days often coincide with national or cultural holidays. 2013-14 free Indianapolis Children's Museum admission days include April 28, 2013—El Dia de Los Niños, Dec. 24, 2013—Christmas Eve (10 a.m.–2 p.m.), Jan. 20, 2014—Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Feb. 17, 2014—Presidents Day.
The museum also offers free family admission nights from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.
