Located in the southwestern part of the United States, the state of Nevada has several nicknames, including the "Sagebrush State" and the "Silver State". The first settlers in Nevada arrived in the mid-1800s, but the state did not officially join the United States until 1864.[1] Nevada deals for visitors include discounts on hotel stays within the area, reduced rates for attractions such as museums and zoos, and specific offers for travel to select Nevada cities.
